This highly specialized Dual Career Ladder (DCL) position utilizes technical skills and the application of engineering design principles along with other technical expertise in the design and review of plans and specifications in accordance with regulatory codes for drinking water, waste water, and public swimming pools  The position involves the on-site inspection and evaluation of existing drinking water system infrastructure and the review of plans and specifications of said infrastructure for repair, replacement or consolidation feasibility and code conformance.

Job Duties:

  • Performs complex reviews of existing infrastructure for water systems across the State of Louisiana.  The reviews shall include a physical inspection and an analysis of required improvements and associated costs. Performs analytical reviews for the Drinking Water Revolving Loan Fund (DWRLF) and also American Recovery Program (ARP) funding. Manages ARP funding projects within Engineering.
  • Prepares reports regarding infrastructure analysis for drinking water systems. Presents material in reports as necessary to the Governor’s office, elected officials, water system personnel, LDH employees, etc. Presents findings and reports to legislators as necessary for infrastructure project

Minimum Qualifications

 

Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice professional engineering plus one of the following:

Two years of licensed engineering experience; or

Six years of professional engineering experience.
